At Yemen FX Rates, we respect your privacy and work to protect your information. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
1. Who we are
Yemen FX Rates provides currency and gold rate information for Yemen. We do not ask you to create an account or sign in to use the app.
2. Information we collect
a) Information stored on your phone
When you change app settings, we save on your device only:
- Your chosen language (Arabic or English)
- Theme (light, dark, or system)
- Default city (Sanaa or Aden)
- Whether notifications are on or off
These settings are not sent to us and stay on your phone unless you delete the app.
b) General usage information
We may collect general, non-personal information that helps us understand how the app is used, such as which screens you visit and general device type. We do not use this to identify you personally.
c) Notifications
If you allow notifications, your phone stores a token that lets us send alerts when rates change. You can turn this off at any time in app or device settings.
d) Crash reports
If the app crashes, a technical report may be sent through Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix the problem. It does not include your name or phone number.
3. Information we do not collect
- Your full name or home address
- Your phone number or email (unless you contact us)
- Photos or contacts
- Banking or payment card details
- Passwords or user accounts
4. How we use information
We use the information above to show rates and news, improve the app, fix bugs, and send rate-change notifications (if enabled). We do not sell your information and do not use it for targeted advertising.
5. Third-party services
We use Google Firebase (Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging) to operate the app. These services process data on our behalf to provide hosting, analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications.
When you open news from the app, you visit an external website (2dec.net) and their privacy policy applies.
6. Exchange rate data
Rates are collected from 2dec.net and displayed in the app. Your device reads prepared data from our backend; it does not scrape websites directly.
7. Children
The app is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
8. Security
We apply reasonable measures to protect data. However, no system is 100% secure.
9. Your choices
- Turn off notifications in app or phone settings
- Change language and theme at any time
- Delete the app to remove saved settings on your device
- Email us with any privacy question
10. Data retention
Settings on your phone remain until you delete the app or clear its data. Usage and crash data is kept for a limited time to improve the app, then deleted or aggregated.
11. Changes
We may update this policy when we add features or change how the app works. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
